Signed from Rhyl in the Summer of 2007, Murtagh is a midfield playmaker who shows signs of real promise. His chances were limited in his first season, partly because he was concluding his studies at University, but he showed his ability on his debut at Port Vale, capping a composed performance with a coolly taken penalty in a shoot-out.
