A highly-promising right-back, Walker made a hugely impressive debut in the last game of the 2010-11 season, standing out in a 2-0 win at Hayes. Comfortable going forward, as his prolific record in the reserves and youth team, often playing on the right side of midfield, shows, he is also solid defensively.

A member of the Ireland Under 19 Squad, he played a key role in Wrexham's run to the final of the 2010 Welsh Youth Cup, and the reserves' victory in the Pontins League.   Bearing all this in mind it was no surprise to see him fully involved in the first team at the start of the 2010-11 season.

Indeed, he started the season as first choice at right back, playing in four of the first five games and coming on as a half time substitute in the other. However, Wrexham’s defence looked rather leaky in those games, and Walker paid the price by losing his place.

He would play only one more game for Wrexham in that campaign, in the final match of the season when Dean Saunders selected a reserve team at Luton before taking on The Hatters in the Play-offs. However, he did enjoy a loan spell at Droylsden in the Conference North, where he made a positive impression, and remains a highly promising card in Saunders’ pack.

Sadly, his chances of making further progress in the 2011-2 season were severely hampered when he picked up a serious injury in pre-season, although he returned to reserve team action in April and scored n his first match.
