A talented midfielder who is a regular in the Wales Under-21 squad at the age of eighteen, Allen was Saunders' first signing when he arrived on loan from Swansea and marked his arrival with a brilliant goal on his debut against York. He followed this up with another influential performance in a 2-1 win at Mansfield, but was then injured in a training match, seriously compromising Saunders' plans.
